Returns the integer power of a complex number.
Sample Usage
IMPOWER("5+2i",3)
IMPOWER("1+2i",2)
Syntax
IMPOWER(complex_number, exponent)
- complex_number - The complex number.
- exponent - The exponent.
Examples
IMPOWER("5+2i",3) returns a value of "65+142i".
IMPOWER("1+2i",2) returns a value of "-3+4i".
Notes
- A complex number raised to a power is calculated as: (a+bi)n = rn(cosθ + isinθ),
- where r = √(x2 + y2)
- and where θ = arctan(b/a)
- exponent can be an integer, fractional, or negative.
- If exponent is nonnumeric, IMPOWER returns an error.
