PERCENTILEINC

Returns the value at a given percentile of a dataset.

Sample Usage

PERCENTILEINC(A2:A6,0.5)
PERCENTILEINC(A2:B6,A7) 

Syntax

PERCENTILEINC(range, percentile)

  • range - The range containing the dataset.
  • percentile - The percentile value in the range 0..1, inclusive.

Examples

PERCENTILEINC(A2:A6,0.5) returns the 50th percentile of the dataset.

 

Notes

  • The value returned by PERCENTILEINC is not necessarily a member of range.
  • The 50th percentile, i.e. setting percentile to 0.5 is equivalent to using MEDIAN with the same dataset.
